IDENTIFYING A CONSCIOUS BROTECTOR:

1. Wears mala beads, but emotionally vanishes during conflict.
   He’ll stare into your soul for five minutes, then ghost you with “I just need to integrate.”
   
2. Says ‘I’m holding space for you’ while actively dissociating.
   Space isn’t being held. It’s escaping with incense.
   
3. Has a trauma-informed vocabulary, but can’t locate his own triggers.
   He’ll call you out for projecting, then hide behind the phrase “my truth feels different right now.”
   
4. Thinks breathwork replaces therapy.
   He can exhale for 12 minutes straight, but can’t say “I’m wrong.”
   
5. Describes past toxic behavior as “a sacred lesson from the feminine.”
   Translation: he got dumped, read one Rumi quote, and now sells coaching.
   
6. Does shadow work as long as it makes him look deep but not feel shame.
   Because shame isn’t divine, it’s bad branding.
   
7. Attends sacred men’s circles to cry once, drum twice, and dodge emotional intimacy for another six months.

WATCH FOR THESE PHRASES:

• “I’m feeling into this” = I’m emotionally unavailable but spiritually decorated
• “This is big for me” = I’m about to avoid you with presence
• “Let’s slow this down” = You’re getting too close and I need to retreat behind my beard and cacao now

TRUE MASCULINITY isn’t a curated brand of stoicism, tattoos, and moonlight tears.
It’s the willingness to show up unarmored, not just for her, but for himself.
